Desired qualifications, skills and experience:
- Third level qualification in relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
- Managing and configuring Linux operating systems e.g. RedHAT
- Experience with cloud technologies Public, Private and Hybrid.
- Experience working with and managing AWS systems, security and networks.
- Experience with networking and administration of subnets, vlans, routing and ability to troubleshoot anddiagnose using tools such as MTR, packet capture etc.
- Experience with physical hardware, racks, patch panels, servers, switches, firewalls, routers.
- Experience working with virtualisation technologies such as VMware, vSphere and ESXi.
- Experience with incident management and SLAs.
- Team player with keen interests in IT infrastructure, operations and security.
- Excellent organisation, communication and time management skills.
Operations team functions:
- Ensure the monitoring and reporting of systems, applications and services is managed and maintained to the highest standards.
- Assist with the administration, drafting and updating of IT operations and security documentation.
- Document and maintain operational procedures and policies via Knowledge-base.
- Manage and maintain system and application backups including DR systems and sites.
- Liaise with support and development teams internally and externally to ensure continuous service delivery and improvement of operational services.
- Administration of servers and network infrastructure, switches, firewalls and storage.
- Automation of current processes where practicable using tools and utilities.
- Assist with and manage support requests and queries.
