Voxbet have been processing bets expressed in natural language since the 2006 World Cup in Germany. We started out as Onionsack and offered people the ability to bet by sending their bet in an SMS. This went live before the first iPhone – so we were ahead of our time before by being the first to process mobile phone bets.
The commercial driver for the Onionsack Text Betting platform was that it significantly reduced call centre operating costs. An unexpected benefit was that those who bet by text bet considerably more frequently than those who bet via any other channel.
This is still true today.
We built an enviable client base of Tier 1 operators with our text betting platform, and we became a niche highly respected technology partner in the betting industry.
In 2020 we invested in making our platform compatible with the brilliant voice-to-text engines being offered by the tech giants. We decided that their bet of billions on voice being the future of online navigation was worth following. To make such a service work could only be possible with our platform.
By 2021 we had proven that placing a bet online could be as easy as speaking it. We knew this would be huge so we set about attracting the best set of investors an innovative technology company in the betting industry could imagine.
Every investor we pitched to signed up.
And now we are Voxbet.
